Student Enrolment Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings, payments, enrolments and participation in training courses provided by UTN College (“the College”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By booking a course and accepting these Terms & Conditions, you (“the Student”) enter into a binding agreement with the College.
Students are responsible for reviewing these Terms & Conditions before making payment.
These Terms & Conditions must be read alongside the course description, booking confirmation, cancellation information and any additional policies expressly provided before enrolment.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
1. Course Information
1.1. UTN College provides a structured, three-month professional tattoo training programme combining theoretical learning, practical demonstrations, supervised training and professional development.
1.2. The course operates three days per week:
- Monday: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Tuesday: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Wednesday: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
1.3. The programme runs for approximately three months. Exact commencement and completion dates will be confirmed at enrolment.
1.4. All training is delivered in person at the designated UTN College training premises.
1.5. Physical attendance is compulsory. The programme is not offered as a distance-learning course, and online attendance cannot replace required practical sessions.
1.6. Students are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and personal expenses.
1.7. Course places are limited and allocated according to availability.
1.8. The College will provide information about the curriculum, learning outcomes, assessment requirements, included materials and compulsory additional costs before enrolment.
1.9. The College may make reasonable adjustments to teaching arrangements, provided the agreed course is delivered to the required standard.
2. Course Fees and Booking Deposit
2.1. The total course fee is £3,599 per student.
2.2. A booking deposit of £599 must be paid to secure a place on the selected course.
2.3. The deposit is deducted from the total course fee.
2.4. The remaining balance is £3,000.
2.5. The deposit secures a limited-capacity training place and contributes towards genuine costs and losses arising from student cancellation.
2.6. Subject to statutory cancellation and refund rights, the deposit is intended to be non-refundable where a student cancels or changes their mind and the College reasonably incurs losses as a result.
2.7. The College may retain up to the deposit amount where justified by genuine losses, unavoidable costs and any reasonable opportunity to fill the vacated place.
2.8. The deposit will not automatically be forfeited where retaining it would be unfair or unlawful.
2.9. By paying the deposit, the Student acknowledges the booking commitment and agrees to the payment and cancellation provisions of this agreement.
3. Remaining Balance and Payment Deadlines
3.1. The remaining balance of £3,000 must be paid in full no later than seven calendar days before the course start date.
3.2. A payment reminder will be sent approximately 14 calendar days before the course begins.
3.3. An additional reminder may be sent seven calendar days before commencement if payment remains outstanding.
3.4. Students are responsible for completing payment by the specified deadline, regardless of whether a reminder has been received.
3.5. Failure to pay the outstanding balance may result in a final payment notice.
3.6. If the balance is not paid within the reasonable deadline stated in that notice, the College may cancel the enrolment and make the place available to another applicant.
3.7. Any retention of fees following non-payment will comply with applicable consumer law and be limited to amounts the College is legally entitled to recover.
3.8. No student is entitled to commence practical training while the course fee remains unpaid unless the College has expressly agreed alternative arrangements in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.
4. Payment Methods and PayPal Pay in 3
4.1. The College may accept payments through approved payment methods made available on its website.
4.2. Where available, eligible students may apply to use PayPal Pay in 3 to finance the £3,000 outstanding balance.
4.3. Subject to PayPal’s eligibility criteria, approval and terms, this may allow three monthly instalments of £1,000.
4.4. PayPal Pay in 3 is a third-party payment facility. Approval is not guaranteed, and availability depends on PayPal and the specific transaction.
4.5. Students choosing this option must complete the full £3,000 checkout transaction by the College’s payment deadline.
4.6. Repayments to PayPal are governed by the Student’s separate agreement with PayPal.
4.7. UTN College is not responsible for the approval or rejection of applications for third-party payment facilities.
4.8. Refunds for transactions made through third-party payment services will be handled according to applicable law and the relevant provider’s refund procedures.
5. Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refund Policy
For an expanded breakdown of cancellation timelines, cooling-off rules, deferrals, and step-by-step instructions, please visit our dedicated Cancellation & Refund Policy Page.
5.1. Students wishing to cancel must notify the College in writing by email to Info@utncollege.co.uk.
5.2. Where the Student has a statutory cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the College will honour that right.
5.3. For qualifying online or distance service contracts, the Student will generally have 14 days after the contract is entered into to cancel without giving a reason.
5.4. The College will provide legally required cancellation information and a model cancellation form before an eligible online booking is completed.
5.5. Where a Student expressly requests that training begins during the statutory cancellation period, the College may charge an appropriate proportion for services already provided where legally permitted.
5.6. Following expiry of any applicable statutory cancellation period, a Student who voluntarily cancels may be responsible for reasonable losses resulting from the cancellation.
5.7. The College may retain an appropriate amount from fees already paid where it has incurred genuine losses that cannot reasonably be avoided.
5.8. Cancellation charges will take into account relevant preparation costs, expenses saved, teaching already delivered and opportunities to fill the cancelled place.
5.9. Withdrawal after commencement does not automatically entitle the Student to a full refund.
5.10. The College will assess refund requests in accordance with applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the cancellation.
5.11. Where illness, bereavement or exceptional circumstances prevent attendance, the College may consider alternative arrangements or discretionary concessions on an individual basis.
5.12. Where the College cancels the programme or fails to deliver contracted services, Students will receive any refund or remedy required by law.
5.13. The College may offer an alternative intake where suitable, but Students will not be required to accept a transfer in place of their statutory rights.
6. Compulsory Attendance
6.1. Students are expected to attend all scheduled theoretical lessons, practical workshops, demonstrations and assessments.
6.2. The College requires a minimum attendance target of 90%, subject to reasonable adjustments and exceptional circumstances.
6.3. Completion of essential hygiene, infection-control and practical assessments may be required regardless of overall attendance percentage.
6.4. Students must notify the College as early as reasonably possible when unable to attend.
6.5. Repeated unexplained or unjustified absences may affect course progression.
6.6. Students who miss essential training may be required to complete additional learning or assessments before progressing.
6.7. The College is not automatically required to provide free individual replacement sessions where a Student voluntarily misses scheduled lessons.
6.8. Any charge for separately agreed replacement training must be disclosed and agreed before that training is provided.
6.9. Continued failure to meet reasonable attendance requirements may lead to disciplinary action or an inability to complete the programme.
6.10. Disability-related absences, reasonable adjustments and exceptional circumstances will be considered individually.
7. Punctuality and Timekeeping
7.1. Students must arrive prepared and ready to begin training promptly at 11:00 am.
7.2. Students are encouraged to arrive sufficiently early to prepare their workspace and equipment where necessary.
7.3. Students who expect to arrive late must inform the College as soon as reasonably possible.
7.4. Students arriving after a compulsory safety briefing may be prevented from participating in the relevant practical activity until it is safe to do so.
7.5. Repeated unjustified lateness may result in verbal warnings, written warnings or further disciplinary action.
7.6. Persistent lateness that materially affects training may prevent successful course completion.
7.7. Students must not leave practical sessions early without notifying the responsible instructor.
7.8. All disciplinary measures relating to punctuality will be fair and proportionate.

9.1. Students must not participate in training while impaired by alcohol, recreational drugs or other substances that compromise safe working.
9.2. Consumption of alcohol or recreational drugs during teaching sessions or on training premises is strictly prohibited.

10.8. Serious safety breaches may result in assessment failure, suspension or exclusion following a fair process.
10.9. Students may not independently undertake tattooing activities as part of the course unless expressly authorised and all required licensing, insurance, supervision and consent arrangements are satisfied.
11. Practical Training and Live Models
11.1. Practical training will be undertaken according to the Student’s level of experience and demonstrated competence.
11.2. Students may only carry out authorised practical exercises under the supervision required by the College.

12.7. Students will receive appropriate feedback on areas requiring improvement.

13. Failure, Resits and Course Retakes
13.1. Students must successfully complete the required assessments to receive the relevant course completion certificate.
13.2. Students may fail an assessment or the programme where they do not meet essential technical, theoretical or practical standards.
13.3. Serious deficiencies in safety, hygiene or competency may prevent a Student from passing the course.
13.4. Where a Student fails to achieve the published standards, the College may offer:
- A reassessment.
- Additional practical training.

14.7. The College will keep reasonable records of disciplinary decisions.
14.8. Students may request an internal review of an exclusion decision.

21.7. Events beyond the College’s reasonable control will be managed fairly in accordance with contractual obligations and applicable law.
Important: This clause applies where UTN College cancels or cannot deliver the course. It does not affect the separate terms relating to student-initiated cancellations or non-refundable deposits, nor does it limit students' statutory consumer rights.
